Role: Packaging Engineer Location: Chicago, IL We’re partnering with a growing packaging solutions provider in the greater Chicago area to identify a Packaging Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about delivering innovative, cost-effective packaging designs. This role will support both customer and internal sales teams by developing packaging concepts, refining current solutions, and managing projects from ideation through production. What You’ll Do: Recommend smart, efficient packaging solutions that align with customer needs and vendor capabilities Drive continuous improvement across existing packaging systems and new concept development Collaborate closely with customers, sales, and vendor partners to educate and align on packaging best practices Own technical packaging projects from conception through execution, maintaining quality and performance standards Lead design processes using tools such as ArtiosCAD and SolidWorks to develop 2D and 3D packaging prototypes Operate and utilize sample-making equipment (CAD tables like ZUND or Kongsberg) for hands-on testing and development Create clear documentation and visual renderings with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite What We’re Looking For: 3+ years of experience in packaging engineering, design, or related product development roles Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related discipline Strong technical understanding of paper- and plastic-based packaging (e.g., corrugated, folding cartons, films, etc.) Proven experience with ArtiosCAD and SolidWorks Familiarity with CAD table operation Advanced understanding of 3D structural design concepts Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) Detail-oriented mindset with strong follow-through and project ownership Why This Role?
