We are seeking a Research Scientist to lead and support cutting-edge projects in quantitative SPECT, internal dosimetry, and the advancement of radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT). This role sits at the intersection of imaging science, computational modeling, and translational research and is ideal for someone who thrives in a scientifically rigorous, mission-driven environment focused on transforming cancer care.
As a member of our nuclear medicine research team, you will play a pivotal role in the design, validation, and deployment of novel algorithms and methods for quantitative imaging and dosimetry. Youll also have opportunities to contribute to peer-reviewed publications, regulatory submissions, and cross-institutional collaborations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support projects involving the development and validation of quantitative SPECT imaging methods using both conventional and emerging imaging systems.
Design and implement organ- and voxel-level radiation dose calculation tools for internal dosimetry in radiopharmaceutical therapy.
Apply and evaluate AI and machine learning techniques for image reconstruction, segmentation, and dosimetric modeling.
Conduct Monte Carlo simulations using platforms such as OpenGATE, DPM, or SIMIND to model detector response and radiation transport.
Analyze and compare simulated and clinical data to ensure algorithm performance, reproducibility, and clinical robustness.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, medical physicists, radiologists, and external research partners.
Author scientific publications , conference abstracts (SNMMI, EANM, IEEE MIC), and white papers.
Participate in documentation preparation for regulatory filings (e.g., FDA 510(k), clinical validations).
Remain current with scientific literature and emerging trends in radiopharmaceutical imaging and internal dosimetry.
Qualifications:
Required:
Ph.D. or M.S. in Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Nuclear Medicine, or a related field .
Hands-on experience with quantitative SPECT or PET imaging, radiopharmaceutical therapy, or internal dosimetry.
Experience with Monte Carlo simulation tools such as OpenGATE, SIMIND, or DPM.
Proficiency in scientific programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or C/C++).
Familiarity with DICOM standards and handling clinical imaging datasets.
Strong foundation in nuclear medicine imaging physics and instrumentation.
Demonstrated ability to publish scientific research and communicate findings to diverse audiences.
Preferred:
Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., FDA 510(k), ISO standards).
Prior involvement in clinical trial research or translational medicine projects.
Exposure to AI/ML techniques in imaging analysis or dosimetry.
Familiarity with commercial imaging platforms and vendor-neutral workflow development.
