About the role: Position Summary: This role bridges the gap between linguistic theory and practical AI applications. The NLP Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable natural language processing (NLP) systems. This involves recognizing NLP tasks, defining clear annotation guidelines, selecting appropriate technologies, and integrating them into larger software applications. What you will do: The ideal candidate will write high-quality, maintainable code, enhance and optimize NLP models, and collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate project requirements into technical solutions. They will implement linguistic theories into practical, innovative text analytics and AI-driven features. What you will bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, or a related field. 2-4 years of experience in NLP, software development, or related roles. Proficiency in Python and NLP/AI libraries/frameworks such as Langchain, Pydantic AI, Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch, or TensorFlow. Strong understanding of software architecture, data structures, and design patterns. Experience in data annotation, guideline design, and data quality evaluation, preferably in linguistics. Experience integrating NLP models into production environments and with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to independently solve problems by evaluating factors, devising solutions with limited information, and adapting approaches, with work reviewed at critical points.
