Position Summary As a Network Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining ISC2's internal infrastructure systems. You will be part of an initiative focused on optimizing our on-premises and cloud footprints to ensure maximum network reliability and consistency. Emphasizing automation is essential to increasing productivity and streamlining processes. Responsibilities Enhance and maintain the global infrastructure with a strong emphasis on automation. Prioritize security to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all data and systems. Configure and administer a variety of enterprise networking equipment, including switches, firewalls, and routers. Collaborate with the Security Team to securely set up the network infrastructure. Keep current documentation of security protocols, network maps, system diagrams, and topologies up to date. Provide troubleshooting support for end-users and internal applications as needed. Work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing collaboratively to the team. Optimize system performance through effective tuning of system parameters and configurations. Contribute to capacity planning efforts to minimize costs while maintaining high service quality. Document processes, systems, and solutions within your responsibility areas. Remain informed about technological changes and suggest new tools or methods as required. Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure reliability for LAN, WAN, and wireless networks. Address basic network connectivity issues and escalate complex problems where necessary. Assist in the configuration and installation of network hardware. Respond promptly to service tickets, providing timely support to users and teams. Conduct routine network maintenance, including patch management, backups, and firmware updates. Cooperate with IT teams to ensure robust network security measures. Maintain detailed records of network configurations and activities. Stay updated on networking technologies and best practices. Qualifications Fundamental knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs). Familiarity with network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) and network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds). Basic understanding of managing VMware environments. Experience with endpoint management tools such as JAMF, PRTG, Intune. Understanding of the OSI model, Agile methodology, and ITIL processes. Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching (CCNA) certification is preferred. Experience managing Wi-Fi setups using Meraki preferred. SQL management experience is a plus. Education and Work Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; alternatively, 4 years of equivalent enterprise-level work experience may be considered. Minimum of 2 years related enterprise-level experience on a network and systems team. Hands-on experience with routing, switching, and security controls across the OSI model. At least 2 years of experience maintaining cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or O365 in IaaS and PaaS environments is preferred. Experience with administering Windows/Linux servers is an advantage. Physical and Mental Demands Work regular business hours, with extended hours as necessary; participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 5-10% of the time. Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working. Frequent use of office equipment such as computers and monitors. Occasional lifting and transporting of equipment up to 50 lbs., which may involve bending or kneeling.
