Our work depends on Network Engineer Senior joining our team to support the US Central Command (USCENTCOM). Overview: Designs and plans network systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives. Contributes to completion of specific programs and projects. Works under very general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is/may be reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Interacts frequently with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications. Leads briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Requirements: Understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals (e.g. DNS, FTP, SSH, ACL, VLAN, DMZ, BGP), general networking technologies, network architecture and connectivity troubleshooting Ability to describe and troubleshoot routing and switching issues Network design, engineering, and implementation (Advanced Level) Creation of network related Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) equipment lists and costing Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance Understanding and experience with the DoD Architecture Framework and other key DoD network architecture and strategic planning instructions Thorough experience performing packet capture analysis or running Wireshark is highly desirable. Review and/or approve Network engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet Network needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating Network integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository Experience: 5 years related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques. 5+ years’ experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a high paced diverse environment Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Certifications: IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent Clearance: Security Clearance: active TS/SCI Desired Skills: Cisco Certified CCNA, CCNP, CCDP (or equivalent). Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco ACI-based networks. Manage and support the Cisco ISE solution across the organization Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ISE with other network components Additional Information: Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity Travel may be required to support the mission Location: On Customer Site (MacDill Air Force Base) US Citizenship Required #USCENTCOMCITS #GDITPRIORITY
The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
