What We're Looking For Were seeking a motivated Network Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot networking and communication systems onsite at China Lake, CA. This role is well-suited for transitioning service members with 24 years of hands-on experience supporting Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical environments. Work Location & Schedule This position follows a rotating travel schedule: Spend 610 weeks working onsite at China Lake, CA, followed by 2 weeks off at home to rest and recharge All travel and onsite accommodation expenses fully covered by PEAKE Daily per diem allowance for meals and incidental expenses. (Note: based on GSA rates and typically tax-free when aligned with federal travel guidelines; paid in addition to wages to reduce out-of-pocket costs and simplify expense tracking.) Clearance Requirement Active DoD Security Clearance (Secret minimum) What Youll Do Installation & Setup Rack, stack, and power up networking equipment Install, cable, and configure routers and switches in newly constructed infrastructure environments Troubleshooting & Support Diagnose and resolve network issues involving routers, switches, and connectivity Escalate complex issues when necessary Customer Service Deliver timely and clear technical support with a customer-first approach Assist end users with basic configuration changes and common technical issues Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of network configurations and service activities Write clear and concise service call reports for internal use What Youll Need to Succeed Technical Skills Hands-on experience with Cisco or similar networking equipment Familiarity with cabling, racking, stacking, and power setups Network troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users High school diploma required Basic proficiency with MS Office and networking tools Additional Qualifications Technical certification (e.g., CCNA) preferred Able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods Compensation & Benefits Competitive full-time salary based on experience and qualifications Continue to receive full pay during scheduled time off between travel rotations Daily per diem allowance for work-related travel (tax-free when aligned with GSA guidelines) Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and 11 Paid Federal holidays Equal Opportunity Employer PEAKE hires based solely on business needs and the qualifications of each individual.
