Join us as a Network Development Engineer for Project Kuiper, Amazon's innovative low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. In this pivotal role, you will:
Design and implement cutting-edge network architectures for various environments, including manufacturing facilities and research labs.
Manage LAN/WAN architectures, routing, and switching across multiple global locations.
Create and maintain network standards and configurations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Plan for network capacity and growth while implementing effective routing and switching solutions.
Oversee WAN connectivity between sites and develop network automation strategies.
Document and maintain network infrastructure comprehensively.
Your daily routine: Start your day by reviewing network alerts and analyzing traffic patterns to plan network expansions. Collaborate in technical design sessions to architect solutions for launch sites, keeping redundancy and security at the forefront. You will coordinate with vendors for WAN installations, troubleshoot routing issues, and mentor team members on complex deployments.
This role requires a mix of hands-on configuration of critical infrastructure and leading design reviews for new implementations. You will manage escalations from manufacturing teams, validate network security controls, and ensure the networks remain highly available for mission-critical operations. This is an on-site position, with a requirement to work from the office five days a week. Up to 25% travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
4+ years working in a Linux/Unix environment.
1+ years of experience with automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway.
