NBA is hiring: Project Employee, Broadcast Support Engineer in Secaucus

This position requires a person who has well-rounded knowledge of broadcast media systems, including transmission, video, audio, communications, and control systems workflow. This individual will be part of the Systems Engineering & Support team supporting broadcast infrastructure at the NBA in Secaucus, NJ, at NBA Arenas, and other remote locations, including NBA domestic and international distribution during live games, addressing live game critical issues as they arise.
Major Responsibilities:
Provides troubleshooting support to ensure operational standards and uptime.
Supports live environments for NBATV International, production control rooms, NBA Arenas, and other technical areas at NBA HQ.
Checks inbound and outbound feeds for technical continuity.
Interacts with and supports remote arena engineers, production teams, IT, operations, and domestic/international customers and vendors.
Supports and troubleshoots broadcast systems and IP-based, network-connected equipment such as 3G / HD production hybrid routers, multiviewers, production switchers, IP codecs, and broadcast department network Layer 2 / 3 switches.
Creates detailed technical reports.
Willing to work all shifts associated with 24x7x365 production environments, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Skills / Knowledge:
Knowledge of broadcast television standards, workflow, and technologies responsible for routing, switching, encoding, audio processing, and distribution.
Ability to handle systems routing, quality control issues, and production requirement variations.
Enhanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn.
Understanding of fiber optic and copper networking technologies.
Ability to work independently and creatively.
Hands-on experience with 3G / HD broadcasts and knowledge of 3G / HD systems.
Experience Needed:
2-5 years of broadcast operations or engineering experience.
Educational Background Required:
College degree in Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
Significant field experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Salary Range: $3,200 / Biweekly
