Are you a seasoned Water/Wastewater Project Manager looking for your next challenge? We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Municipal Engineer to lead impactful infrastructure projects that support the communities where we live, work, and play.
As part of our municipal group, you'll work with cities, towns, and water and sewer districts throughout the region—helping to plan, fund, design, and oversee the construction of critical water and wastewater facilities. You’ll also collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across the company to deliver comprehensive solutions to municipal clients. Key Responsibilities
Lead municipal water/wastewater projects from planning and design through construction, ensuring they stay on schedule and within scope and budget.
Manage client relationships and expectations while delivering high-quality technical solutions.
Prepare detailed construction documents, technical specifications, and reports.
Oversee construction administration and provide technical support during implementation.
Utilize engineering software and tools to prepare plans and designs in line with industry standards.
Mentor junior staff in technical execution, project management, and client care.
Coordinate with local agencies, utility districts, and stakeholders to secure necessary approvals and permits.
Support the growth of the Helena Municipal Group through business development activities, including proposal writing, interviews, and presentations.
Collaborate with senior leadership to grow client relationships and expand the firm’s municipal portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in municipal water/wastewater projects.
Professional Engineering (PE) license in Montana, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage projects effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in water and wastewater system design.
Proven success managing project teams, delivering projects on time and within budget.
Established client relationships and a strong track record in business development.
Active involvement in relevant professional associations.
