RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Mid-Senior Bracing (Civil/Structural) Engineer in Pleasanton, CA.

Summary:

This position is responsible for independently delivering engineering services, with a proven track record of excellence from conceptual design through construction completion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Independently complete conceptual design through construction drawing development for bracing of pipes, HVAC etc. for large complex projects or multiple projects simultaneously Appropriate engagement of engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions Proactively communicate and coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving/troubleshooting, as required Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines Equipment anchorage calculations and PE wet stamped installation package including BOM Equipment vibration isolation calculations and PE wet stamped installation package including BOM Design roof top duct and pipe supports, and PE stamped installation package including BOM Riser duct and pipe supports, and PE stamped installation package Seismic restraint calculations for duct and pipe Roof structure verification of existing structures for equipment replacement Structural design of equipment skids Design of supplemental steel for equipment, duct or pipe supports including BOM Create templates and standard designs for supports, attachments and seismic bracing that creates an economy of scale that is cost effective to install and build Other duties as assigned by Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Structural or Civil Engineering Professional Engineer license highly desirable, but not required; Must be able to obtain within a short period of time 8+ years of experience in structural design of bracing systems (pipes, HVAC, etc.) Excellent understanding of engineering and design fundamentals Excellent familiarity with building codes and industry standards Thorough understanding of seismic bracing design, attachment design, supplemental support design Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or Bluebeam, or similar drafting software preferred Knowledgeable with 3D modeling software to create design and installation packages Expert in project planning, coordination, and execution Expert level understanding of building codes, structural guidelines, and best practices Excellent understanding of ACCO engineering standards and project execution processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently with limited oversight, as well as being part of a highly collaborative team Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
