Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is looking for a highly qualified, experienced and self-motivated individual to perform the duties of a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support the Administrative Applications Unit (AAU) at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web-based applications that support critical administrative functions across multiple FBI divisions. This position requires an Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance, supporting a DOJ FBI five-year contract beginning mid-July 2025. The primary work location is Patriots Plaza in Washington DC (with a possible work location of Mission Ridge in Chantilly, VA upon special request and client approval). Some telework flexibility may be available on a case-by-case basis.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Mid-Level Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and management of application development projects in support of FBI's IT infrastructure. Working within the AAU team, this role will:
Design and develop custom web applications
Integrate third-party software components
Modify and enhance existing code bases
Automate operations and maintenance tasks
Implement large-scale data processing solutions
Participate in full software development lifecycle
Conduct technical project milestone reviews
The engineer will develop and maintain a portfolio of custom-built and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, implementing technical solutions under the direction of lead architects.
AAU uses Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and Oracle Application Express (APEX) to provide web-based application support and conducts regular operations and maintenance (O&M) to keep applications secure and operating effectively and efficiently.
This position requires collaboration with stakeholders across multiple FBI divisions to deliver technical solutions that meet their specific business needs.
Clearance:
Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance
Required Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
4+ years of experience in software development and application management
Strong experience with Java, J2EE, and web-based application development
Experience with Oracle database systems and APEX development
Ability to integrate third-party components and develop custom capabilities
Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of large-scale data processing and statistical modeling
Experience with agile development methodologies
Experience with automation of maintenance tasks
Experience with Microsoft 365 Power Platform and SharePoint
