Mid-Level Systems Engineer (MBSE) – Integrated Air Defense

We're seeking a talented Systems Engineer with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience to support the air defense planning capabilities of the groundbreaking Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). Responsibilities:
Systems Analysis: Analyze, define, and manage detailed system-level requirements, interfaces, and architectures to transform customer needs into effective and robust systems solutions.
Domain Expertise: Develop deep knowledge of integrated air and missile defense concepts, including sensor systems, weapons platforms, and command-and-control functionalities.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, test engineers, and domain specialists to translate operational needs into clear, actionable system requirements.
MBSE Application: Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw to design and analyze complex system architectures.
Integration Support: Facilitate cross-functional integration, ensuring system components interact seamlessly and meet defined mission objectives.
Traceability & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive traceability between requirements, design decisions, and test cases, managing changes and conducting impact assessments throughout the system lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in systems engineering (3+ years with a Master’s degree), including requirements analysis, system architecture, or interface definition.
Hands-on experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw.
Proven ability to clearly define and manage system interfaces, architectures, and behavioral analysis.
Familiarity with conducting Requirements Impact Assessments, Change Requests, and Engineering Change Proposals.
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Ability to work full-time onsite in Huntsville, AL.
Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Desired Qualifications:
9+ years of systems engineering experience (7+ years with a Master’s degree).
Technical expertise with integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) systems and sensors (e.g., PATRIOT, Sentinel, G/ATOR), including their impact on C2 system architecture and interfaces.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
Knowledge of tactical data links such as Link-16.
Demonstrated capability in conducting requirements impact assessments and contributing to engineering change proposals.
Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
