Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin’s outstanding Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity, and reliability. The Life Extension 2 (LE2) team is an organization within the greater FBM program which supports the development of the Next Generation System by developing concepts, researching, and maturing technologies to support the development of the next FBM Missile System.
Lockheed Martin (LM) is looking for a dedicated Systems Integration Engineer to become a member of the Missile Subsystem Product Integration Team.
As a Mechanical/Electrical Integration Engineer , you will serve as a key interface between the requirements, design, subsystem engineering, system engineering, and production teams!
In this role you will:
• Provide independent review and cross-program coordination to ensure mechanical and electrical designs and as-built products are compatible
• Support Missile production and test activities at component manufacturers and the Strategic Weapons Facilities
• Drive anomaly investigations to closure
• Perform data reviews and provide feedback to test and integration teams
• Engage in travel and off-shift support
• Find opportunities for build flow and test efficiencies
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance , thus US Citizenship is required.
YOU WILL TYPICALLY HAVE:
• 2+ years of professional experience for this role.
Desired skills
• Excellent leadership skills and whole systems thinking
• Experience with spacecraft/missile design, development, integration, or test, with broad based and in-depth knowledge of space, missile and launch systems at the component through system level
• Validated understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors
• System design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Propulsion, RF, Software, etc.)
• Experience with flight operations and/or mechanical design
• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for implementation on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data
• Experience ensuring the physical and functional compatibility of hardware products throughout the full life cycle of the program
• Demonstrated experience of good judgment and programmatic implementation vital to meet technical requirements while balancing schedules and budget obligations
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent social skills, with the ability to lead multi-functional teams, develop excellent relationships with team members and shape consensus among peers
• Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or Delegate CPE for electronics packages or similar and Engineering Material Review (EMRB) experience; ability to interact with hardware CPEs and designers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change
• Active Secret or Top Secret DoD security clearance.
