Hybrid Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team and support the resolution of quality defects within product manufacturing. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and addressing quality issues to ensure our products meet the highest standards of excellence. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with two days off-site.
Responsibilities
Lead or contribute to small-to-medium engineering projects, or support portions of larger, complex initiatives.
Perform mechanical design and development tasks, including updates to labeling, documentation, and general product enhancements.
Implement design changes for mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and full product assemblies using the product release process.
Conduct design analysis and generate supporting documentation such as feasibility assessments, product risk documentation, and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
Apply new technical tools and concepts with guidance from team members.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a cross-functional team environment.
Collaborate daily with engineers, technicians, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, supply chain, and marketing teams.
Support customer requests in partnership with the sales team or through direct customer interaction.
Share technical knowledge and mentor peers in areas of expertise.
Proactively identify and implement creative solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
Communicate developments and potential issues that may impact team deliverables or timelines.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
2+ years of experience in a medical device manufacturing environment
Experience running tolerance stackups
Experience running design changes
Proficiency with Solid Edge and Inventus
Mechanical engineering and design expertise
Knowledge of GD&T and root cause analysis
Experience in medical devices, tolerance analysis, and tolerance stack-ups
Work Environment
This role operates in an on-site manufacturing environment, working closely with the sustaining engineering team. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with two days spent working off-site, providing an opportunity to learn new engineering aspects within medical device manufacturing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
