Mechanical Engineer EI
Position Purpose
The Mechanical Engineer Intern will design and develop specifications of air distribution, hydronic piping and HVAC control systems and heating and cooling load calculations for various environments. The Engineer will work closely with architects, engineers and builders during the construction phase.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities __

Perform heating and cooling load calculations
HVAC system design to include air distribution, hydronic piping, and HVAC control systems
Prepare specifications based on design
Review design drawings in relation to plans and specifications
Analyze existing building HVAC systems
Attend on-site inspections during construction phase.
Stay updated on HVAC technologies and techniques, conduct experiments and field tests to evaluate new systems and materials
Perform all other duties as assigned
Travel: 10% to project sites for surveys and meetings.
Competencies
Familiar with Revit
Familiar with HVAC systems and Microsoft Office Skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including multi-disciplined design teams
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Excellent communication and time management skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications / Prior Experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
FE certification preferred
Work Environment

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Prolonged period of sitting or standing at a desk while working on a computer.
Exposure to outside elements when on location site
