Role Summary This role is focused on supporting engineering efforts in materials used for electrification and iron-based applications. The engineer will work on high-priority projects involving materials like magnets, copper wire, dielectric insulators, adhesives, and components used in motors and batteries. The position blends technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and select materials for electric drive systems and iron-based components Support testing and analysis of materials under various conditions (., heat, pressure, aging) Collaborate with internal teams to address material performance and failure issues Contribute to feasibility studies and project planning for upcoming initiatives Provide input on materials used in motors, batteries, conductors, and insulation systems Must-Haves Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science or Engineering Strong experience in iron metallurgy or electrification materials Experience with materials testing and lab equipment Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and adapt to shifting project priorities Nice-to-Haves (But would most likely win them the job) Industry experience in automotive, electronics, or energy systems Familiarity with materials used in motors, batteries, adhesives, and insulators Exposure to agency or contract engineering environments Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.00/hr.
