*Description:* Experienced Materials Engineer with a focus on metallurgical processes and analysis related to aerospace applications.
*Duties/Responsibilities:*
· Responsible for leading R&D materials engineering efforts on several complex projects for on time and on budget delivery
· Develop and ensure compliance with all project requirements
· Interact with senior management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress
· Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates
· Ability to take a design from concept to production
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, and mechanical, software and systems engineers, to ensure successful project execution
· Communicate clearly (written and oral) with senior management, design team, and customers
· Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
· Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, and military standards
· Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards
*Skills/Qualifications:*
· Must be a U.S. Citizen
· Materials Engineer with 10+ years’ experience in materials development, coating, testing and/or processing
· Established technical expertise in ferrous and non-ferrous metals to include corrosion prevention, coatings, heat treating, hardening, and/or other developmental processes
· Demonstrated ability to employ first principles in design concept development
· Demonstrated ability to take a design from concept to production
· Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced, autonomously driven atmosphere
· Experience with development of test plans such as mechanical testing, microscopy, spectroscopy, etc.,
· Must possess technical and analytical thinking skills with a detail-oriented approach
· Demonstrated ability to self-manage assigned project tasks to meet schedule
· Ability to create quality, concise technical reports
· Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
· Demonstrated ability to learn new skills
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
*Desired Skills/Qualifications:*
· Working practical knowledge of AS9100
· Experience in the defense or aerospace industries
· Experience designing user-centered products
· Extensive experience in prototype and production manufacturing, fastening technologies, and assembly methods
· Experience managing a program/project
· Materials Science and Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree with a published thesis
· Experience developing and executing test plans for MIL-STD requirements
*Education/Experience Requirements:*
· Education: BS or higher in Materials Science and Engineering or related with 10+ years of relevant experience
· Proven leadership skills
· Hands-on mechanical assembly or fabrication experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
