Tangent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for driving the cost-efficiency, quality, and scalability of our product lines. This role plays a key part in both new product launches and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with New Product Development teams to transition approved designs into scalable manufacturing processes.
Partner with extrusion, tooling, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production.
Refine and scale manufacturing processes for both new and existing products.
Design, test, and install automated and manual manufacturing systems.
Analyze production requirements and optimize workflows, layouts, and equipment performance.
Lead initiatives such as FMEA, APQP, and PPAP to support product development and launch.
Drive cost and lead time reduction by identifying and eliminating waste in production processes.
Plan and execute process improvement activities including Kaizen, A3, and Six Sigma projects.
Research and implement automation solutions to enhance production efficiency.
Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols and ensure alignment with quality system procedures.
Coordinate with external extrusion partners to optimize material usage and reduce waste.
Monitor and apply SPC (Statistical Process Control) to improve response times to defects and maintain high production quality.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to take initiative in fast-paced environments.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods working at a desk and computer.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
