Compensation: $100,000 - $180,000 / year Department: Manufacturing Location: Redondo Beach Description As a Manufacturing Engineer for Machining , you will own all aspects of manufacturing turbopump components, set up machining cells, and iterate products from development test articles to high volume production. Impulse is building an exceptional team, and this position offers growth opportunities for high performers of any experience level above the basic qualifications (Senior, Principal, etc.). Responsibilities Own all aspects of turbomachinery component manufacturing from product inception and iteration to volume production. Work with various CAM software (HSM Works, Fusion 360, ESPRIT, Hypermill, etc.) and learn new software rapidly. Program turbomachinery in MAX-PAC, Hypermill, or similar. Install advanced CNC machining work centers and develop processes for prototype, test, and flight hardware. Collaborate with design and development teams to improve manufacturability and produce reliable, cost-efficient components. Resolve technical issues with innovative solutions. Expand your experience across manufacturing fields to enhance in-house production capabilities and contribute to space exploration. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field. 3+ years of experience with CNC machines and CAM packages. Experience in design, test, manufacturing, or production environments. Experience with 5-axis mills, mill turns, live tooling turret lathes, etc. Proficiency with manual and CNC mills and lathes. Ability to learn new CAM software quickly and manage large tool libraries. Proven project ownership and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills and Experience 6+ years of CNC and CAM experience, including programming turbomachinery and MAX-PAC. Experience setting up and developing manufacturing processes, including design improvements. Self-starter with problem-solving skills. Experience with OEM software like Heidenhain, Okuma OSP, Siemens, Fanuc, etc. Experience in setting up machine shops and evaluating capital equipment. Hands-on fabrication skills and familiarity with CAD, GD&T, and work holding design. Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments. Flexible with travel and programming skills in Python/SQL or similar. Additional Information Compensation varies based on role, level, location, and market data.
