GENERAL PURPOSE
To provide technical, process support and guidance to the manufacturing assembly area(s) by identifying, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the impact of continuous improvement ideas that utilize lean manufacturing principles. These improvements would target processes and procedures that will enhance the quality and repeatability of the assembly process and increase productivity.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILTIES
Identify and implement process and assembly improvements into the manufacturing area using lean manufacturing principles
Facilitate the investigation, disposition and corrective action activities for major customer affecting quality issues.
Provide troubleshooting support to the manufacturing floor
Create and maintain manufacturing processes and procedures
Design and setup assembly cells for the implementation of new product lines
Provide technical, process, and procedural training to assembly personnel
Identify process and manufacturing improvements in regards to production chemistry. Drive quality and repeatability of processes and finished products.
Participate in new product design reviews to identify design for manufacturability (DFM) issues and opportunities.
Provide feedback and analysis to business units regarding the quality of product; Facilitate Customer Feedback meetings
Develop, qualify, implement, and control production processes
Monitors production rates and quality results implementing methods for continuous process improvements in all areas of the factory and supply chain.
Provide input on the design of new product lines.
Review assembly documentation for accuracy through ECO reviews
Work with packaging vendors to design custom packaging solution for high volume assemblies
Design and implement assembly fixtures that will increase efficiencies on the manufacturing floor
Provide Return on Investment (ROI) justification on capital expenditures
Integrate manufacturing processes inherited through acquisition into the current process structure
Oversee Facility ISO Documentation & Environmental requirements
Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Proven ability in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles
Proven ability to lead and work in a team environment
Proven ability in the use of the labeling software used in the manufacturing process.
Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet and Microsoft Office suite of software including Word, Excel and Outlook (or related e-mail system)
Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven ability to interpret standards, specifications, procedures, drawings, etc.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Proven ability to train and motivate employees at all levels
Proven ability to make sound decisions within established guidelines
Proven ability to demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and to appropriately prioritize workload based upon organization or department needs
Be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through skills
Must possess high degree of professionalism
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing, industrial, quality, chemical, or mechanical engineering or other related technical degree with a minimum of three (3) years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; or combination of relevant education and experience
Special Job Requirements:
Must be available for long, varied work hours at times
Preferred Qualifications:
CAD work experience
Proficient in the use of SAP
Machine shop experience
Six Sigma Black Belt certification
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to reach above shoulder level, reach below knee level, bend, stoop, squat/kneel, climb; and lift, push or pull 50 lbs. Must have the ability to make coordinated movements of the fingers and hands to grasp, manipulate, and to perform data entry on a keyboard.
Steel-toed shoes are required for working in this position
Combination of general office and regular shop assembly/distribution center environment (no air conditioning)
May require regular ground travel to other company facilities within local metropolitan area
Long-distance or air travel as needed - not to exceed 20% travel
