About the Facility:
Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to establish a new production facility in Greenville County, South Carolina. This 1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art plant—set on over 200 acres—will feature a flexible production line capable of manufacturing both internal combustion and electric vehicles. Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks, with a targeted capacity of up to 50,000 units annually by 2030. Assembly operations are expected to launch in 2027, with expansion slated for 2028. Strategically located near I-85, I-26, and the Port of Charleston, the site supports streamlined logistics and consolidated operations under one roof. This initiative is projected to create over 700 new jobs in the area.
What You Need:
Bachelor’s degree in production engineering or production management
At least 3 years of experience in a related engineering field
Strong understanding of quality control technologies (TQM, SPC, etc.)
Knowledge of design principles, assembly tools and fixtures, and part tolerances
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly specifications
Skilled in preparing mechanical drawings, plant layouts, and assembly plans
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to deliver effective training and business presentations
Must be able to lift items weighing 5–60 pounds during trial setups and assessments
What You Will Do:
Support the startup of a brand-new vehicle assembly facility, including early-stage equipment planning and layout development
Prepare for the installation of production equipment, jigs, and tools to support the launch of medium-duty commercial truck models
Develop and manage 2D/3D CAD-based layout designs for production lines, equipment placement, and work areas
Coordinate with equipment suppliers to review specifications, participate in pre-shipment checks, and confirm readiness for delivery and installation
Collaborate closely with the Maintenance team during equipment installation, focusing on safety, accuracy, and startup readiness
Assist in the development of efficient work methods, processes, and line setup to support consistent quality and throughput
Maintain accurate records and databases of production equipment, jigs, tools, and key process parameters
Provide hands-on support during early ramp-up and trials, ensuring proper functionality and addressing assembly or tooling issues
Drive improvements in equipment setup, ergonomics, and process efficiency during the plant’s early growth phase
Communicate and coordinate across departments to resolve production and assembly challenges
