The Manufacturing Engineer – Continuous Improvement (CI) is responsible for leading and executing plant-wide initiatives focused on operational excellence and waste elimination. This role champions lean manufacturing principles and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Own and lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives across the manufacturing plant.
* Plan, facilitate, and follow up on Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and process redesign.
* Develop and implement standard work to ensure process consistency and repeatability.
* Identify and eliminate waste through lean tools and methods such as 5S, visual management, and Poka-Yoke methodology.
* Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to drive improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Support process standardization, layout optimization, and workflow efficiency.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement at all levels.
* Analyze performance data and trends to prioritize improvement opportunities.
* Provide coaching and training on lean tools and CI methodology.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or process improvement role.
* Proven experience leading CI or Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
* Strong knowledge of lean principles (e.g., Kaizen, standard work, 5S, root cause analysis).
* Excellent problem-solving, facilitation, and project management skills.
* Effective communication and collaboration abilities across multiple departments.
* Familiarity with weld, paint, and assembly operations is highly preferred
* Proficiency with data analysis, time studies, and process mapping
* CAD knowledge is preferred.
* Six Sigma or Lean certification preferred.
*Physical and Enviromental Requirements*
* Ability to work on the production floor and in a manufacturing environment.
* May require standing, walking, or lifting for extended periods.
