Manufacturing Engineer – Assembly
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer will have responsibility for support and improvement of assembly areas in Plant-3. Applies engineering expertise to problem solving manufacturing issues and delivering systems and processes designed to create greater efficiencies to the manufacturing environment.
Job responsibilities:
Support Operations and Trades with plant equipment issues
Support product quality issues
Develop and implement continuous improvement and cost savings
Lead and support in the development, specification, validation, and installation of new equipment and retools in assigned area.
Utilize project management skills to plan and execute assigned projects; manage tooling budget as required
Understand & lead safety/ergonomic requirements
Communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders: Engineering, Trades, OPS etc. to meet customer needs
PFMEA Development and Support
Plant CN processing in your area
Support plant quality and safety audits and supporting documentation
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
2 years previous experience with ME tools and equipment design and build or equivalent Plant ME experience.
Working knowledge of assembly manufacturing processes including pressing, fastening, fixturing, vision systems, data collection and tool design
Working knowledge of basic pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical controls
Knowledge and interest in process automation and robotics
High level of analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Good computer skills
Knowledge of Problem Solving Techniques (ie: Fast-X, Shainin, Six Sigma)
Knowledge of GD&T
