Qualifications
Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related). Master's preferred.
5-7 years in manufacturing engineering with focus on PCB assembly and electronic manufacturing
PCB design for manufacturability (DFM)
SMT processes, soldering, and assembly techniques
Test methodologies (ICT, FCT, AOI, X-ray)
CAD software proficiency (SolidWorks, Altium Designer)
Quality methodologies (SPC, Six Sigma, Lean)
Industry standards knowledge (IPC)
Contract/Joint Design Manufacturer experience preferred
Responsibilities:
DFM/DFA Leadership: Optimize designs for manufacturing and assembly, providing feedback to design teams
PCB Optimization: Collaborate on layouts, stack-ups, and routing for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
Component Management: Evaluate, qualify, and standardize components for reliability and efficiency
Process Development: Create and improve assembly processes, work instructions, and control plans
Tooling Design: Design and qualify manufacturing fixtures and tooling
Quality Improvement: Analyze data to identify issues and implement solutions to improve yield
NPI Support: Lead new product launches from prototype to mass production
Equipment Implementation: Evaluate and implement automation and manufacturing technologies
Supplier Management: Collaborate with manufacturing partners and conduct technical assessments
Problem Solving: Support failure analysis and root cause identification
Cost Optimization: Drive cost reduction through process and design improvements
Documentation: Maintain manufacturing specifications, procedures, and change control
