Manufacturing Design Engineer

Pay Range: $40hr - $45hr
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operational sequences, and processes for part and assembly fabrication.
- Estimate manufacturing costs and determine tooling and process requirements.
- Configure BOMs for production.
- Develop documentation for assembly, testing, and certification.
- Provide training to assemblers and technicians.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues.
- Test and qualify mechanical, electrical, and optical components.
- Work with suppliers to improve incoming material quality.
- Create, execute, and improve build sequences.
- Read and interpret design drawings and schematics.
- Use CAD tools to update models and drawings.
- Interact with engineers to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Lead efforts on supplier quality issues and manufacturing escalations.
- nalyze manufacturing data using statistical tools.
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 1+ year of experience
- Experience in the development of production documentation and manufacturing processes
- Experience with Quality projects and statistical process control (SPC)
- Experience tracking production rework and scrap
- Familiarity with Engineering Change processes
- Experience in maintaining accurate BOM and cost information
- Experience in tooling and fixture development
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Understanding of system-level interactions between optics, electronics, and mechanics.
- Competency in mechanical/electrical manufacturing, tooling, and process improvement.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to analyze data.
- Previous experience with supplier development (a plus).

- Solid modeling and structural analysis.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- SolidWorks CAD tools.
- Microsoft Office Suite.

- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or advanced degree preferred.
- Fields of study: Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science.
