Job Title Mainframe Software Engineer What does a successful Mainframe Software Engineer do at Fiserv? You will be part of our Merchant Solutions Risk & Fraud mainframe application development engineering group. You will join an organization responsible for mission critical platforms that support Fiserv by reducing financial risk. We build and support highly scalable, available, and high-performing tools for the risk management process by providing opportunities to evaluate, monitor and manage the merchant risk portfolio. This demanding environment will require you to be an enthusiastic critical and analytical person who can balance platform stability and resiliency along with best engineering practices and solutions. What you will do: Develop customized solutions within the mainframe platform to support critical business functions and meet project objectives, client requirements, and company goals Manage daily support and maintenance and conduct long-term improvement operations to ensure compatibility and stability of applications in production environments Communicate with project leads, project managers, clients, and other developers to design cohesive project strategies and ensure effective collaboration throughout all phases of development, testing and deployment Maintain a flexible and initiative-taking work environment to facilitate a quick response to changing project requirements and customer objectives and innovate ways to meet mission goals successfully Provide high quality code and design review feedback to other engineers while defining and leading the adoption of standards and best practices for code and design reviews Create change control tickets using Service Now, attending meetings and reaching out to other impacted areas to get the approvals for deployment Drive the deployment process by working with implementation teams and providing validation support for deployments What you will need to have: 4+ years of experience in COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, SORT utilities, CA-Endevor, CA-DB tools and CA-File Master. 4+ years of technical hands-on experience in application development on a mainframe environment using Z/OS, COBOL, DB2, JCL and CICS Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience What would be great to have: Experience in the payments or financial domain Working knowledge of distributed/server environments and big data solutions Knowledge of IT systems and practices specific to Risk/Fraud monitoring and control domains Important info about this role: We’re better together! Salary Range $75,000.00 - $126,000.00 These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
