Summary: TRABUS seeks a highly motivated Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are leaders in artificial intelligence and wireless technologies, dedicated to addressing real-world problems through innovation. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in machine learning algorithms and software engineering to contribute to diverse AI projects related to resource planning for ship maintenance, marine transportation, and climate/environmental informatics. Your work will involve developing machine learning models to provide predictive insights and analytics for web-based full-stack AI applications across government and commercial domains. Responsibilities: Write code to extract and pre-process training data sets, handling various data formats and APIs. Research, select, and develop ML/DL algorithms to solve AI problems across different data domains (Navy, Transportation, Environmental Sciences, Healthcare, Public Safety, etc.). Collaborate with the Data Science team to deliver scalable AI solutions involving LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, computer vision, and NLP tools. Work with AI/ML and DevOps engineers to establish automated workflows for continuous inference and prediction. Develop validation and testing routines to evaluate prediction quality. Requirements: At least 2 years of programming experience in Python. Completed coursework in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithms, and Data Science. Knowledge of Python libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Understanding of databases and API-based ETL operations. Strong Linux/Unix skills. Excellent Python coding skills, experience with large datasets, and familiarity with web frameworks like Django and Flask. Experience with git repositories. Desired Skills: Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in MS Office. Strong communication skills. Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Ability to obtain or hold a security clearance; US citizenship required.
