SUMMARY
UT Southwestern is seeking an experienced Licensed Professional Engineering (PE) for their Electrical System Operations team. Works under moderate supervision to provide professional engineering skills for planning, designing, construction, remodeling and major repair of UT Southwestern Medical Center buildings to include mechanical, electrical and plumbing documentation. Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience
5 years related experience.
Licenses and Certifications
(PE) PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER Registered as Professional Engineer, preferably in Texas. Must recertify PE licenses in the state of Texas at time of renewal.
JOB DUTIES
Provides professional engineering consultation services relative to users’ needs such as programming, researching, planning and designing.
Advises administrators and department chairmen during development of project programs, schematics, preliminary designs, construction drawings and specifications.
Prepares plans and specifications for remodeling and adapting of existing campus buildings, including electrical, plumbing and mechanical modifications.
Inspects construction sites at intervals to ensure progress and quality of work being performed and to determine if work is proceeding according to contract documents.
Maintains effective working relationships between contractors and in-house staff. As necessary, serves as UT Southwestern Medical Center representative for specific projects.
Responsible for design, execution, and effectiveness of system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are complied with.
May provide working supervision, training, and guidance to employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
