Description As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing system-level requirements and overseeing integration, verification, and user acceptance testing to ensure the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems (JWICS) are fully operational for DISA customers. Join our team and be at the forefront of technology in a dynamic environment! Primary Responsibilities Supervise and guide a talented team of 10-15 professionals. Address personnel management tasks, including performance reviews, salary recommendations, and recognition submissions.
Lead efforts in data gathering, requirements definition, use case development, gap analysis, functional specification, test plans, and design specification.
Oversee engineering activities, which include requirements analysis, implementation planning, third-party coordination, and system assessment.
Utilize a systems engineering approach for planning, design, execution, and sustainment.
Support the development of processes for technical platforms, system specifications, and hardware/software compatibility.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of systems engineering documentation and models using appropriate tools.
Proactively identify and manage project task dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with team members to monitor and report technical variances, ensuring the resolution of issues that may impact product delivery.
Regularly communicate the technical status of product development to appropriate leads.
Identify and manage external dependencies to keep projects on track.
Estimate resources and effort needed to outline and update project schedules effectively.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience with 12-15 years in the industry; or a related Master's degree with 10-13 years of experience.
Must hold an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret with SCI.
Proven experience in architecture, design, development, and delivery of data-driven operations capabilities in a DoD environment.
Minimum of 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
Over 5 years of project planning experience.
At least 2 years of experience working with Linux/RHEL OS systems.
At least 2 years of experience with Windows Server OS systems.
Able to thrive in a highly technical team environment and a fast-paced setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
Able to work well with individuals from diverse disciplines with varying levels of technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with network routing devices and configurations.
Understanding of ITIL principles, with ITIL certification being a plus.
Experience in OS scripting languages (perl, python, shell).
Familiarity with databases such as SQL or Oracle and experience with database migrations.
