We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support Enterprise Intelligence Squad, which is responsible for running the DTCC’s IT Datawarehouse. You will be responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting data ingestion and data curation pipelines. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to managing the platform.
As a Lead Database Engineer you will participate in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Work closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve complex business problems.
Your Primary Responsibilities : Lead development-driven initiatives from inception to completion with minimal guidance. Take full ownership of delivering end-to-end solutions in collaboration with your team. Understanding of IT infrastructure, security and process area data to build reports and metrics for Stakeholders and Management. Following data warehousing standard methodologies for resilient and optimized performance. Work with Product Owners to understand the requirements. Should be able to lead and guide the team of up to 4 members. Providing technical and operational support for our customer base as well as other technical areas within the company that use Datawarehouse. Risk management functions such as reconciliation of vulnerabilities, security baselines as well as other risk and audit related objectives. Provide support to in case of any production issues. Ensuring incident, problem and change tickets are addressed in a timely fashion, as well as advancing technical and managerial issues. Following DTCC’s ITIL process for incident, change and problem resolution. **NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. **
Qualifications: Minimum of 6 years of related experience Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience Talents Needed for Success: Self-starter, continually striving to improve the teams service offerings and one’s own abilities. Must have a problem-solving and innovative approach to meet a wide variety of challenges. Willingness and ability to learn all aspects of our operating model as well as new tools. Ability to meet deadlines, goals and objectives. Must have good SQL skills and good knowledge of relational databases, specifically, Snowflake. Working experience covering Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project Must have strong understanding of data warehousing concepts. Must have good understanding of designing efficient data pipelines. Must have data modelling experience. Must have good data analytical skills. Ability to manage agile development cycles within the DTCC SDLC (SDP) methodology. Optimize/Tune source streams, queries, Good knowledge of the technical components of Claw (i.e. Snowflake, Talend, PowerShell, Autosys) Python experience is a plus. Experience with analytics tools like Power BI, QuickSight etc. Should know how to work with CI/CD tools like BitBucket. Moderate to advanced competency of Windows and Unix-like operating system principles (power user functions) The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
