The Lead Data Engineer will design, construct, and maintain architecture for data processing solutions, enabling the seamless conversion of both structured and unstructured data into valuable insights on a large scale. You'll tackle moderately complex to complex situations where in-depth analysis of data variables is essential. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will: Ingest data from various structured and unstructured sources utilizing cloud-based platforms and software development best practices.
Develop tools that utilize artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data, resulting in actionable insights that enable Humana to serve our members better.
Guide departmental strategy using data-driven insights.
Make informed decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding the technical approach for project components, operating with minimal direction.
Determine objectives and methods for assignments with a high degree of autonomy.
Utilize your skills to make a significant impact! Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of technical experience in data analysis or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
Proficient in SQL, Python, data science, machine learning, and/or related data systems.
Extensive experience with large and complex data sets within sizeable organizations.
Proven ability to analyze data to solve diverse business challenges and create insightful data visualizations for strategic direction.
Strong understanding of healthcare-related data.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly with senior and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, or predictive modeling.
Experience developing analytics solutions in various healthcare sectors.
