Role Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and implementing scalable data models tailored for business intelligence and reporting needs at a growing, well-established Healthcare Organization. You'll develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using modern cloud technologies, ensure optimal performance of data systems, and serve as a technical lead for critical data projects.
Responsibilities:
Architect and implement reporting-ready data models, using denormalized structures and star schemas.
Build and manage data integration workflows using SQL and cloud-native tools.
Optimize data pipelines for scalability, reliability, and performance.
Lead the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional data projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions.
Support team members by providing guidance and ensuring high data quality standards.
Enhance performance of databases and queries within a cloud-based SQL environment.
Oversee ETL/ELT operations and ensure alignment with data governance practices.
Use DevOps practices and tools to manage pipeline deployments and maintain version control.
Troubleshoot and proactively resolve data-related issues.
Contribute to data architecture strategy, aligning technical designs with broader business goals.
Promote data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
Develop internal documentation and reference materials based on best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, solution-focused culture.
Requirements: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or database development.
3+ years of hands-on work with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
Proven experience leading full-cycle data projects from design to deployment.
Deep expertise with SQL, cloud data services, and pipeline orchestration tools.
Strong skills in writing complex SQL and optimizing database operations.
Familiar with DevOps tools for pipeline automation and monitoring.
Proficiency with reporting platforms such as Power BI or similar.
Effective communicator with a collaborative, agile mindset.
Demonstrated ability to balance technical trade-offs under resource constraints.
