Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, configure, and maintain routing and switching technologies across enterprise systems.
  • Develop IP addressing schemes and VLAN designs for secure and efficient traffic segmentation.
  • Support advanced protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and logical failures across physical and virtual environments.
  • Conduct site surveys and network assessments to support modernization efforts.
  • Implement firewall rules, NAT, and VPN configurations in accordance with agency policy.
  • Integrate on-premises and cloud systems to support seamless network operations.

Experience:

  • Required:
    1. Bachelor’s or a master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
    2. Minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, design, and implementation.
    3. Experience in enterprise-level networks, including data centers, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale WAN/LAN setups.
    4. Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting network protocols, such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
    5. Project management experience leading or working on network-related projects, including design, upgrades, or troubleshooting.
  • Strongly Desired:
    1. Knowledge of network infrastructure components: routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless networks
    2. Proficiency in scripting/automation. Familiarity with automation tools
    3. Expertise in network analyzing tools
    4. Strong knowledge of network security protocols and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and Zero Trust models.
    5. Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and SDN (Software-Defined Networking).

Certifications:

  • Current CISCO™ Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or current CISCO™ Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
