GENERAL INFORMATION
This position will be part of a dynamic, high performance NetSecOps team. Further it will require collaboration with larger DevSecOps, and Functional teams within the office. This is a small team in a fast paced and fun environment. Position encompasses nearly all facets of the Security domain resulting in significant experience over time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzes threat information from multiple sources, disciplines, and agencies across the intelligence community. Synthesizes and places intelligence information in context; draws insights about the possible implications; identifies and executes counter measures. Reviews and maintains enterprise information systems roles and security permissions to adhere to standards and best practices.
Job Functions
Duties: Develops, analyzes, maintains, and monitors information using enterprise information security tools, analyzes business processes, defines and documents security requirements. Participates in operational information security incident and crisis resolution management. Responds to information security requests and problems, explaining agency policies and procedures. Protects private and confidential information from disclosure, enforces data governance, implements, and enables information security plan, performs forensics and investigations, follows regulatory compliance, and participate in security awareness campaigns. Performs information security risk assessments of proposed hardware and software purchases to find any known security risks or known exploits prior to purchase.
Additional Functions
• Collaborate with Application Development team in regard to data topics and pertinent digital asset development support.
• Contributes to the positive performance of the Computer Services Division.
• Demonstrates timely and consistent attendance.
• This is an in-office position.
• Any additional duties as assigned by State Controller or his/her designee.
Minimum Qualifications
Some knowledge of the basics of network security (e.g., encryption, firewalls, authentication, honey pots, perimeter protection, etc.); cyber-attack stages (e.g., reconnaissance, scanning, enumeration, gaining access, escalation of privileges, maintaining access, network exploitation, covering tracks, etc.); host and network-based security technologies and how those products fit in the network security posture; evolving/emerging communication technologies and risks associated with them; IT industry best-practices.
Distinguishing Qualifications
• Degree in a related field.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards.
• Be self-starting and have a questioning attitude.
