Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Highway Engineer I to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience. With a minimum of five years of relevant experience and a Pennsylvania PE licensure, you will play a crucial role in designing and delivering innovative highway engineering solutions. Expertise with PennDOT ECMS and PennDOT AutoTAB programs is essential. Responsibilities
Develop preliminary engineering deliverables such as design criteria, line/grade/typical section, and design field view. Create final design deliverables including roadway plans, specifications, and engineer's estimates. Prepare supporting design deliverables such as design exception requests, safety review reports, constructability reviews, right-of-way plans, traffic control plans, and signing/pavement marking plans. Conduct quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key project milestones. Perform field views and observations of construction projects to enhance understanding of construction practices. Solve problems with innovative solutions and maintain professional registration and licensure. Stay informed of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances. Provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff. Manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to company and project contractual requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum of five years relevant experience. Pennsylvania PE licensure. Experience with PennDOT ECMS and PennDOT AutoTAB programs. Proficiency in production software and construction document production. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders. Experience with OpenRoads and InRoads. PennDOT and Turnpike experience is essential. Solid design experience in civil engineering, roadway design, and traffic engineering. Work Environment
