Connect Housing Blocks is currently searching for a full-time Manufacturing Designer to join their team in Columbus, Ohio. We are revolutionizing the housing industry, manufacturing multi-story, prefabricated modular apartment housing in Columbus, Ohio, by providing high-quality affordable housing. The Manufacturing Designer is responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest level of product quality.

Pay: $60,000 – $70,000/year, offer dependent on experience
Schedule:
Monday – Friday
7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

The right candidate will have:
Minimum associate’s degree in architecture, engineering, CAD Design, or manufacturing required
Two years or more experience in Building Information Modeling concepts and strategies required
Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with vendors, management, co-workers in English
Spanish proficiency preferred but not required
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing software tools, preferred
Experience with machine controls preferred. Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred
Our Manufacturing Designer will:
Read and interpret architectural drawings into constructable designs for manufacturing while following applicable building code and company design standards
Maintain drawings, layouts, and revisions in an established document library
Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop strategies to increase manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process/manufacturing engineers and external architectural and engineering consultants, to ensure that products are manufacturable and meet production requirements
Promote and implements lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, improve workflow, and optimize resource utilization
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and components, while maintaining high quality standards
Maintain accurate and up-to-date manufacturing documentation
Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with all relevant safety and regulatory standards
