Compass Point, an Akima company, is looking to hire a Geospatial Database Engineer to join us supporting one of our current government customers at Fort Campbell, KY. The successful candidate will be part of a team that builds synthetic environments flown on Special Operations Forces ground and air simulators. The system provides operational intelligence support to enable integrated SOF mission planning and rehearsal for real-world combat environments. This position involves developing, enhancing, and analyzing various forms of digital geographical data, then assembling this data into real-time visual databases for flight and ground simulation. Responsibilities Collecting and preparing source material (Imagery / Elevation / etc.) Collecting and/or modifying geospatial informational (GIS) data and prepping the data for translation to 3D content Processing GIS data through different workflows to generate 3D scene visualizations Utilizing state-of-the-art software tools to acquire, extract, exploit, correlate, and fuse elevation, cultural features, imagery, and other intelligence source data required for 3D scene visualization database production Creating and editing Unity template applications Automating GEOINT / GIS processes through scripting, etc. Performing other duties as required Qualifications Active or ability to obtain Secret clearance Associate or Bachelors degree; or a combination of training, education, and experience (including military service) equivalent to a degree and required years of experience Proficient in one of the following programs: ESRI ArcGIS Suite, QGIS, Global Mapper, Presagis Creator, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Maya, Maxon Zbrush, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Substance 3D Suite, Presagis Terra Vista, Unity, or MetaVR Experience creating and manipulating multiple geospatial intelligence data formats for simulation visual databases Strong desire to learn new skills and workflows Proven ability to develop effective professional and interpersonal relationships across teams and external partners Ability to balance responsibilities and manage transitions effectively among tasks, demonstrating adaptability to customer needs Good time management skills to complete projects ranging from hours to months Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Job ID: 2025-17391 Work Type: On-Site Company Description Work Where it Matters Compass Point, an Akima company, is not just another federal IT contractor.
