Systems Engineer

Pratt & Whitney is looking for a systems engineer to support the development of fuel system components and their software control algorithms for a new military fighter engine development program. The role is responsible for executing component and subsystem analyses to generate technical specifications for fuel system components such as pumps, control valves, hydraulic actuators, and associated sensing and electronic control interface devices. The role is also responsible for working with their peers in electronic controls, externals architecture, kinematic subsystems, software development, and others to successfully integrate fuel control hardware into the engine system in time for first engine to test.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 5 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree and 3 years' experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Working experience with integrating hardware and software control development for pumps, hydraulic actuation, or fluid flow control systems
  • Familiarity with MatLab, Simulink, Dymola, or similar modeling analysis tools

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is $82,000 - $164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
