Join us as a FIPS 140 Security Engineer and work on critical cryptographic validation projects that support secure communications for our military in today’s cyber warfare landscape. As part of our team, you will have the chance to engage with a variety of Commercial off the Shelf products across many technology types, allowing you to leverage your skills in a hands-on lab environment. What You Will Get to Do: Participate in varied FIPS 140 validation projects. Conduct general security analysis and design work (product architecture). Perform vulnerability testing and physical security testing. Evaluate systems against Technology Type standards (Protection Profiles). Execute cryptographic and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) testing. Test cryptographic algorithms. Review source code and conduct technical report writing. Automate testing through scripting. Develop applications to support test cases. You Will Bring These Qualifications: Cryptographic Validation Program (CVP) Certification. Knowledge of cryptographic encryption algorithms, key exchange algorithms, hashing/message authentication algorithms, PKI, and random number generators. Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java. Understanding of security standard requirements, network setup, subnetting, and routing concepts. Familiarity with common security protocols (e.g., SSH, IPsec, TLS). Experience in building testing environments, performing tests, and reporting results. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, multitasking, and time management skills. Desired Qualifications: Experience with Python programming and debugging tools. Knowledge of statistical analysis of entropy sources and vulnerability analysis/penetration testing. Familiarity with computer security principles and best practices. Strong English communication skills (oral and written). Related certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE). Knowledge of Active Directory and Linux. Hands-on experience with tools such as an oscilloscope and signal generator. Understanding of X.509 certificate validation. Education & Experience: Typically requires a BS degree with 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience. Position Details: Pay Rate / Range: $57.99 - $62.99. Please note this range represents the expected salary for the position, with final offers depending on various factors including responsibilities, experience, and location.
