Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing new or modified equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality. You will review performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives, inspect malfunctioning or damaged products, and determine the nature and scope of problems. Additionally, you will recommend repairs or replacements, coordinate problem resolution with engineering, and provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Responsibilities
Install and ensure functionality of new or modified equipment at customer facilities.
Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives.
Inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of problems.
Recommend repairs and replacements as necessary.
Coordinate problem resolution with the engineering team.
Review machine designs and engineering drawings.
Provide on-site technical assistance for troubleshooting and equipment repair.
Troubleshoot and/or program PLCs, such as Siemens, ABB, and Fanuc.
Analyze reports of technical problems to identify trends affecting future design, production, and service processes.
Develop service handbooks and bulletins based on engineering changes.
Maintain effective communication between the customer and the company to ensure quality service.
Adhere to electrical wiring and conduit requirements.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (no experience required) or experience in Field Service.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints.
Previous experience in wiring and running conduit.
Electrically inclined.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with conveyors and hydraulics is a plus.
Experience with electrical repair and schematics.
Self-motivated with the ability to find tasks independently.
Work Environment
You will work in a large, clean manufacturing space attached to a multi-story office building. While not traveling, you will spend time troubleshooting equipment on-site. The role involves traveling up to 75% of the time, with most jobs lasting three days. Travel includes locations throughout the United States. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $43.00/hr.
