This is a field-based position, requiring work both in the local office and at customer sites across the US as needed. Role Overview The FSE maintains schedules for preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs, troubleshooting and verifying instrument performance, and completing installations and field updates. Ensuring customer satisfaction through quality work, documentation, and professionalism is essential. The role also involves administrative duties like reporting and may require support outside the assigned territory. Key Responsibilities Complete formal training on BD products as required by the territory. Interpret instrument performance data and take corrective actions as needed. Repair instruments of moderate complexity with limited assistance. Perform installations, preventative maintenance, and reliability updates. Maintain professionalism in appearance and communication. Participate in team goal development and communication. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 3 years’ experience troubleshooting technical instruments Experience in customer interfacing roles Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with PC operating systems Willingness to travel at least 50% within San Diego/SoCal and beyond Valid driver’s license and adherence to safety standards Preferred Qualifications Experience as a Field Service Engineer, especially in remote work Associate or Bachelor’s in Electronics, Engineering, or related fields Flow Cytometry experience Experience troubleshooting medical devices Knowledge of tools like volt meters and oscilloscopes Military technical training BD values on-site collaboration, requiring a minimum of 4 days in-office per week for most roles.
