As a Field Engineer at HOERBIGER, you’ll be the front-line technical expert ensuring the reliability and performance of our advanced reciprocating compressor systems. You’ll empower customers through hands-on support, diagnostics, and commissioning of cutting-edge control and monitoring solutions, all while driving excellence in field operations.
This position can be located at any one of our US Service Centers (Houston TX, Odessa TX, Port Allen LA, Liberal KS, Casper WY, Santa Clarita CA, Joliet IL). Position requires 50-60% travel.
*How You Will Make a Difference*
* Serve as the technical lead on-site for startup and overhaul projects, ensuring safety and efficiency.
* Deliver clear, insightful condition analysis using portable diagnostic tools to assess machinery performance.
* Troubleshoot compressor behavior and provide actionable solutions to prevent recurring issues.
* Prepare high-quality technical reports that drive continuous improvement for internal and external stakeholders.
* Recommend innovative upgrades and improvements that enhance reliability and customer satisfaction.
*What You Should Be Good At*
* A bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four-year college or university
* Minimum of two years of related experience and/or training, required.
* Strong foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
* Hands-on experience with reciprocating compressors and condition monitoring tools.
* Mechanical systems aptitude for commissioning and troubleshooting assignments.
* Proficient in reading technical documentation and using precision measurement equipment.
* Excellent written communication for producing clear, concise technical reports.
* While performing the duties of this job, you are frequently required to stand, walk, hear, speak, view processes and surrounding environment, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
* While performing the duties of this job, you are occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; you are exposed to low and medium voltage electrical systems; you are occasionally exposed to high noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection; and you will often be working outside in an industrial environment for extended periods.
* Ability to manage 50–60% travel and adapt to diverse industrial environments.
