Field Engineer (Construction Industry)

Position Summary: The Field Engineer will be responsible for assisting in on-site construction activities, ensuring quality control, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction operations and project execution. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Location: Cecil County, MD (Elk Neck State Park) Qualifications & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of field experience in construction or engineering-related work. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification (required or must obtain within the first 90 days). American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certification (preferred). Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector (CESCI) (preferred). Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively. Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.). Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with teams and subcontractors. Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. There may be other duties as assigned. Assist in monitoring field operations to ensure work is performed in compliance with contract documents and project specifications. Perform on-site inspections and quality control checks. Support the project team with layout and survey coordination. Track and report daily project progress, including work completed and potential delays. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. Assist in resolving field issues by working closely with superintendents and project managers. Maintain and update project drawings, submittals, and RFIs. Ensure adherence to all site safety protocols and participate in safety meetings. Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports.
