Facilities Engineer Responsibilities & Duties

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and operational expenses
Coordinate with contractors and service providers for specialized tasks
Monitor and evaluate building systems for performance and efficiency
Prepare reports on facility operations and maintenance activities
Conduct facility inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions
Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs
Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
Plan and oversee facility layout alterations and modifications
Respond to emergency situations involving facility infrastructure

Facilities Engineer Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities management or engineering
Professional certification in Facilities Management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA)
Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Knowledge of sustainable building practices and LEED certification
Strong project management skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with CAD software and facilities design
Proficiency in energy management and conservation techniques
Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
Understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
