Position Description: The candidate will be an employee of the Fiber Plant Facilities Department.  The person shall provide technical support in the area of Facilities support equipment Provide support in the manufacturing of optical fiber with a focus on facilities management. Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling, storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage Pad. Work with the technical staff to resolve daily issues. Support the commissioning of new equipment for production. Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems. Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or a member of management. Education Required:         Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience Preferred:        Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience Minimum three years experience Experience Required: Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, promptly Preferred:  Experience in fiber optic manufacturing is a plus. Experience with Chiller maintenance and optimization. Experience with pollution control equipment (Baghouse, Scrubber, etc…). Experience with Compressor maintenance and optimization. Experience with high-purity piping and gas delivery systems. Experience with fire detection equipment. Experience with power distribution systems and UPS systems. Skills/Attributes: Strong data analysis skills Excellent communication skills Knowledge of Basic Statistical Tools Detail and quality-orientated Motivated Team Player Ability to work with little supervision
