We are looking for a highly organized and motivated entry-level Project Engineer to join our team at Ideal Building Solutions. This role plays a critical part in supporting the Pre-Construction and Project Management teams by assisting with day-to-day operational tasks, document control, and coordination duties. The Project Engineer will gain exposure to commercial roofing workflows while contributing to multiple aspects of project execution and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain the Master Purchase Order Log
  • Assist in estimating tenant upfit projects and gathering cost data
  • Coordinate and organize shop drawings for internal and external review
  • Manage and renew Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for vendors and subcontractors
  • Review revision sets to ensure alignment with project specifications
  • Draft and track Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Assist in preparing and documenting change orders
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the Pre-Construction department, responding to internal needs and facilitating collaboration

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 Years in the roofing industry working in a production or service environment.
    • Be prepared to discuss jobs worked on, systems installed, & your role in the process.
  • Ability to install the following Roofing Systems;
    • TPO, PVC, Modified Bitumen
    • Fully Adhered, Mechanically Attached, Rhinobond, etc.
  • Previous experience installing Metal Accessories
    • Gutters, Downspouts, Fascia, Coping, Drip Edge, etc.
  • Previous experience with a Mobile Clock In / Clock Out System

Minimum Employment Requirements;

  • Clear a National, State, and Local Background Check
  • 3-Year Motor Vehicle Record meeting standards to drive company vehicles. (If hired as a driver)
  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen &
  • Complete Post-Hire fit for duty screening.
  • Pass the 90-day introductory period.

Qualifications:

  • 40-60 Hour Work Weeks with up to 30% Travel. 
  • Consistent & Reliable Timeliness & Attendance.
  • Rotating (1) weekend per month, On-Call Schedule.
  • Periodic, Regional, and overnight stays for job completion.
  • Ability to operate mobile technology systems & programs.
  • Willingness to learn from other technicians & direct supervisors.
  • Must be trustworthy and willing to work for periods unsupervised.
  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written- Customer Service skill set.

Compensation: 

 $50k-$55K

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at roofing job sites. The weather, work environment, and job sites can be extremely hot or extremely cold. This position is performed inside and outside.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
