Location : This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Adrian Service Center located in Adrian, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Engineering Technical Analyst is responsible for the development and enhancement of engineering standards and materials, including the integration of emerging technologies. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory rules and codes while providing technical solutions to various workgroups. Clear and concise communication of standards and technical direction to both engineering and operations teams is essential for accurate implementation. The incumbent also supports project engineering and design, product and process research, and special initiatives within their assigned work unit.
This position is part of the Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) Planning group, which is responsible for planning electric distribution facilities. The role includes both office and field responsibilities related to the performance of electric distribution circuits, encompassing system planning, project management, reliability programs, customer issue resolution, and storm restoration efforts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with cross-functional projects involving internal departments and external partners through technology enablement and strategic sourcing to ensure timely project completion
Provide engineering and design support using company standards to develop technical designs within a CAD environment
Participate in process improvement initiatives that leverage new and evolving technologies to enhance efficiency and infrastructure
Address concerns, investigate suggestions, and provide support and recommendations to planning, design, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance teams
Maintain a high-level understanding of departmental standards and procedures
Conduct research and development to update engineering and construction standards, manuals, design tools, and documentation, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Perform field visits and collaborate with field operations regarding equipment usage and specifications
Review and interpret plans, specifications, maps, and related materials for each project and apply the information appropriately
Perform other duties as assigned or required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to research and analyze advanced industry trends and conduct utility benchmarking
Strong communication and presentation skills
Effective teamwork, analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn new topics
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
Familiarity with company culture values, CE Way, and Lean tools
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field with two (2) or more years of relevant experience [OR]  Associate's degree in technical or related field with four (4) or more years of relevant experience [OR]  High School Diploma/GED with six (6) or more years of relevant experience
