Job Purpose The Storage Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the availability and performance of all disk storage & SAN switches in both production and non-production environments. This individual works as part of a results-oriented service delivery team and supports other storage engineering & operations teams. Additionally, the Storage Engineer participates in root cause analysis, identifies process improvements, remediates issues, and executes tasks related to project initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide Level 2 support for all disk storage issues across the enterprise.
Respond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environment.
Coordinate with internal users, operations staff, and vendors for root cause analysis.
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support based on escalations.
Perform technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutions.
Contribute to project-driven initiatives.
Automate manual tasks using scripting and application development.
Knowledge and Experience
Mid-level experience with disk storage subsystems and SAN switches (EMC, Hitachi, HPE, NetApp, Cisco, Brocade).
Deep understanding of SCSI, NFS, and SMB protocols.
Experience in disk storage configuration management.
Hands-on experience with storage-based replication technologies.
Proficiency with automation tools.
Good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a service-oriented team.
Project management, organization, and time management skills.
Customer-focused with a dedication to optimal user experience.
Effective communication with technical and business stakeholders.
