Nammo Composite Solutions, LLC a manufacturer of advanced composites and integrated structures, is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a leadership team position for Engineering Manager. This role requires a strong technical background and demonstrated ability to manage people to success within program budgets and task deadlines.

Position reports to the President, General Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead daily operations of a multidisciplinary engineering team

  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and technically rigorous team culture

  • Mentor team members and conduct performance reviews, skill gap assessments, and development planning

  • Build a cohesive team from diverse individuals, emphasizing open communication and mutual accountability

  • Promote a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement across all engineering activities

  • Provide regular feedback to reinforce or correct behaviors

  • Establish and improve business processes

Strategic Planning & Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Align individual and team activities with program, project, and company goals

  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to leadership initiatives

  • Support business development efforts through technical expertise and engagement

  • Attend status and project review meetings, communicating engineering progress and challenges

Technical Oversight & Process Excellence

  • Oversee design, testing, tooling, and process development

  • Provide technical direction on design and process changes impacting production

  • Ensure compliance with engineering and business systems (e.g., timesheets, configuration management, documentation, design reviews)

  • Apply data analysis, scientific methods, and statistical techniques to drive improvements in team and process performance

  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational and technical risks

  • Ensure manufacturing processes are in control and meet quality requirements and expectations

Project & Customer Support

  • Communicate project status and technical milestones to internal and external stakeholders

  • Plan and administer engineering team resource allocation to maximize effectiveness and ensure the needs of all internal customers are met

  • Oversee IRAD budget and project execution

  • Support customer meetings, offering clear and confident technical input

Job Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific field

  • 8+ years in manufacturing, ideally with composites in aerospace/defense

  • Proven leadership in a high-paced production environment

Technical Skills

  • Strong grasp of engineering principles, GD&T, and Lean Six Sigma practices

  • Proficiency with 3D modeling tools (e.g., CATIA or Solidworks)

  • Excellent ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications

  • Solid foundation in AS9100 and industry-specific SOPs

  • Advanced technical writing for reports, proposals, and evaluations

  • Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis

  • Strong interpersonal and feedback-giving skills

  • High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution capabilities

  • Passion for continuous improvement for self and team

  • Comfort with decision-making and technical responsibility

Other

  • Understanding of safety protocols and PPE use in manufacturing environments
