Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. Join Micron as an Engineer - Life Safety Systems & Telecommunications and become part of a team that is spearheading the way the world uses information. This is an outstanding opportunity to be at the forefront of innovative technology, contributing to world-class solutions that drive intelligence and accelerate progress. Responsibilities Design Oversight: Manage third-party design firms responsible for fire alarm systems, suppression systems (, sprinklers, clean agents), emergency communication, and telecom infrastructure (, structured cabling, wireless networks). Technical Review: Evaluate and validate design deliverables including schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment specs, and network layouts to ensure alignment with project standards and codes (, NFPA 72, TIA-568, IBC). Performance Assurance: Assess system reliability, response times, bandwidth, and compliance with safety and telecom benchmarks. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and external designers to ensure system designs align with facility needs and project achievements. Risk & Quality Management: Conduct constructability reviews, risk assessments, and code compliance checks to proactively resolve design issues. System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of LSS and telecom systems with other facility infrastructure using BIM tools (, Revit, Navisworks). Regulatory Compliance: Enforce adherence to OSHA, NFPA, TIA/EIA, and local building codes throughout the design lifecycle. Commissioning Support: Participate in system commissioning, testing, and validation in collaboration with vendors and construction teams. Tool Utilization: Leverage AutoCAD, BIM platforms, and BICSI-aligned design tools to verify interoperability and optimize system performance. Technical Leadership: Offer support to third-party designers, advocating for standard methodologies and adoption of new technologies. Project Tracking: Monitor design progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality, compliant design packages.
